Crochet Cotton & Threads
Crochet cotton and threads come in a variety of sizes, from 3 (being the thickest, close to yarn) through to 100 (almost as fine as sewing thread). Here at Ball and Needle we stock a wide variety of thicker crochet cotton in Ticket 5, 6, 10, 12, 16 and 20 as well as a selection of Tkt 80 cottons as well. All these come in a lovely range of colours from simple brillant white, lilac, coral, latte, browns, rose, black, pink, orange, deep plum, greens, yellows and many blues including baby blue and royal blue. Crochet cotton became more widely avaiable after the invention of the cotton gin which is a machine that essentially made it easier to seperate cotton fibres from their seeds to produce cotton thread. After this revelation costs came down and it popularity increased partly attributable to the fact that cotton is well suited to crochet.
